Disney Resort Snapshots: Disney’s Pop Century Resort

You’re invited to travel back in time and visit decades gone by at the Pop Century Resort!

Disney’s Pop Century Resort celebrates 20th-century pop culture by showcasing the popular toys, fads, dance crazes, and catchphrases of the 20th century.

The resort features larger-than-life icons from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. At this 2,880-room resort, you’ll have the opportunity to live and play inside these unique time capsules and experience the popular culture that defined the century.

Disney’s Pop Century resort features buildings and furnishings inspired by different decades. Giant pop culture icons celebrate the decade they were introduced in or when they gained their greatest popularity.

Some of these giant icons tower more than 60 feet. A picture-perfect moment!

DINING

Feeding a hungry crowd is easy at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. With several options for fast yet delicious, family-friendly fare, you’ll be able to fuel up quickly and without breaking the bank.

Everything Pop

At Everything Pop, you’ll blast back to the past! At this fun- and fad-filled Food Court, four different counter-service shops offer a wide variety of favorites, including sandwiches, salads, pizza, pasta, burgers, and a bevy of baked goods. You can also purchase your Rapid-Fill (refillable) Mugs here to use with meals or while relaxing at the resort.

Enjoy your meal among popular retro icons from the 50s through the 90s that will have you reminiscing with relish. Or, for fun on the run, the Grab-N-Go Market serves fresh food to take out.

Pop Art Pizza Delivery

Pizza Delivery is shared between the Art of Animation Resort and Pop Century Resort and offers a menu that also includes starters, desserts, and beverages.

Petals Pool Bar

At Petals Pool Bar, find your inner flower power at this groovy bar located near the Hippy Dippy pool. Try house specialties like the tropical Banana Cabana or Big Island Iced Tea! Cocktails, draft beer, sangria, and wine are also available.

ACTIVITIES

Although the activities vary by day and by resort, here is an example of some of the trivia, arts and crafts, dance parties, games, and bingo you might find.

Flashback to traditional 20th-century game nights with the outdoor Twister game available at Pop Century.

Look for an activities board near the pool or food court, or check your tv for the schedule during your stay.

Three pools: Bowling Pool located in the 50’s area, flower-shaped Hippy Dippy Pool located in the 60’s area, and monitor-shaped Computer Pool located in the 90’s area.

Lifejackets are available for use, the kiddie pool is available near the 60s area, as well as a playground.

Arcade: Fast Forward video arcade is located in Classic Hall.

Movies: Pop Century also hosts Movies Under the Stars by the Hippy Dippy Pool.

Laundry Services

The laundry rooms at Pop Century are opposite all three of the on-site pools.

Each cycle at the self-service laundry facilities costs $3 per wash; the dryers are also $3 for 30 minutes. Credit and debit cards are now accepted at all laundry locations for washers, dryers, and soap vending at most Walt Disney World Resort hotels. In addition, all laundry rooms have the ability to request a text message when a laundry cycle is complete!

Please note: While some locations still contain a limited number of coin-operated washers (with a change machine made available), other locations accept credit and debit cards only.

Walt Disney World Resort hotels also offer dry cleaning and valet laundry services. Select “Housekeeping” on your in-room phone to schedule a pick-up.

PRO TIPS

  • At Pop Century, the Epcot fireworks may be visible from certain areas of the resort. In the ‘50s section, you may catch a view from the fourth-floor balconies.
  • I think the food courts at both Pop Century and Art of Animation are some of the best food courts on Disney property. They both offer unique items. Since the resorts are so close in proximity, you can always walk to the other resort to enjoy its food court.
  • My kids’ go-to breakfast is the Mickey Waffles. They’re delicious and fun! And I always look forward to the tie-dye cheesecake—YUM.
  • The path near the water and across the Generation Gap Bridge is a very enjoyable walk.
  • There are many icons at both resorts that make for great photo ops! Hint: Take a hop over to Art of Animation for a closer inspection of your favorites from the movie Cars.
  • If you are at a theme park waiting for a bus for Pop Century and one for Art of Animation comes first (or vice versa), take the bus and just walk the short distance from one resort to the other.
  • You’ll love taking a stroll down memory lane with a stay at Disney’s Pop Century Resort!
